- How long until I receive my puppy's official CPD registration package?
For future members who desire rapid processing, a money order is the fastest way for the CPD to respond. Your registration package will arrive within 10 business days. If time is not a factor, the CPD accepts personal or business checks for your convenience.
- How can I transfer ownership of my CPD registered puppy?
Ownership of your pet can be transferred at any time. The CPD "transfer form" which can be located at the bottom, right of our homepage will allow you to do so. This form must be notarized. Newer certificates have transfer instructions printed on the reverse side.
- What if I want to change my address on my puppy's registration certificate?
You must complete a transfer form. This form must be notarized. Newer certificates have transfer instructions printed on the reverse side.
- I have decided to change my puppy's name.
Your puppy's name can be changed by using a transfer application on the back of the registration certificate. There is a $10 processing fee and this application must be notarized.
- What if there is a mistake on my certificate?
The CPD can correct mistakes in the unlikely event. Click the "duplicate certificate request" link located at the bottom, right of our homepage. If the CPD is responsible for the error, the $5 fee will be waived.

- Is there a limit on my canine's age for registration?
No, all purebred canines will be registered as long as the application is completed.
- What if I have more than one puppy for gift or sale but not from the same litter?
In this case, you will need to use multiple single puppy registration applications.
- What if my certificate is lost or damaged?
For your protection, the CPD will only issue duplicate registration certificates to the home of the last known registered owner. No certificate changes will be made during this time. You can complete the process online using the "duplicate certificate request" link located on our homepage. You may also print out the duplicate request form. This form does NOT need to be notarized. Although there is a $5 search fee.
