If you are considering a CPD registered puppy from an honest CPD member, you can rest assured that you are taking home a new puppy that has met our guidelines. The CPD is dedicated to making sure that your loved dog is not forgotten. Always register your new puppy because he or she may become a sire or dam someday or unfortunately, he may get lost. If he does, surely someone may try to claim him. The Certified Purebred Database is a reputable kennel club that will have undeniable proof of ownership at the date in question available to you at your request.
Always free with overnight shipping.
1. The CPD will not accept single puppy applications if your puppy is under 8 weeks of age. Litter applications for puppies under 8 weeks will be accepted only with photos of sire or dam with puppies.
2. Your photos will not be returned to you. Photos become the confidential property of the Certified Purebred Database and are only available to members of the CPD unless chosen as Choice Member of the Week or on your dog's profile page.
3. The CPD photo processing team reserves the right to deny any application with any photo which may depict signs of abuse or neglect. You will be refunded and reported.
4. The CPD will not recognize dam/offspring litters or siblings as sire and dam. Your litter registration application will be denied.
5. Registering puppy/dog's name may not consist of more than 3 numbers. (Ex: Rout 69 Rex is acceptable. Scooter 2956 is not.) A breed title cannot be used as or within the registered name of your dog. (Ex: Big Bear Rottweiler is not accepted)
6. Submitted registration applications obtaining offensive or inappropriate canine names are subject to disapproval.
7. Kennel club members do not need to contact the CPD in the unfortunate event of a deceased pet. You cannot obtain a refund for a deceased pet.
8. Only the primary owner can change the co-owner of a registered dog. The co-owner cannot change the owner unless authorized and notarize by the registered owner.
9. "Breed Status Photo Verified" on your registration certificate indicates that the CPD has photos of either the puppy in question or other members of the lineage on file to assist in ownership/breed verification.
"Breed Status Proclaimed by Owner" on your registration certificate indicates that the CPD does not have photos of the puppy in question or any members of the lineage to assist in ownership/breed verification.
You can change your breed status by submitting photos of your dog at this link.
10. If you have received an application from a breeder or pet store and there are no registration numbers next to the sire and dam, your puppy is the first of his generation to register with the CPD. His bloodline history is unknown. Your puppy does not yet have a pedigree history unless there are registration numbers next to the sire and dam. The letters "NR" beside the names of the sire and/or dam means, "Not Registered" with the CPD.
11. Always check your local guidelines to see if vaccinations and a health certificate with your new puppy is common practice. Registration papers are not health papers.
Surely, everyone loves your new puppy. Make ownership official as soon as possible. Send in your registration application or complete the process online and you will receive your puppy's registration package within 10 business days.
